The perfect way for college grads to get tailored, personalized attention throughout the job search until a desirable offer of employment is extended. The program teaches you to use a full range of tools and approaches to help you land an exciting first job.
Our program includes at least 12 hours of one-on-one meetings (in-person, over the phone or Skype) in addition to follow-up.
The program is customized to fit your needs, but here is an example of the types of things we might work on:
Session 1: Professional resume preparation, and online branding
- Establish your personal and professional goals
- Conduct an in-depth review of your current resume and provide detailed recommendations for improvement; after significant evaluation we will help you create a highly effective resume that tells your story and makes you stands out
- Discuss elements of effective cover letters and craft a personalized cover letter
- Review and implement effective personal branding strategies and identify ways to strategically increase your outreach using LinkedIn and other social media tools
Session 2: Meeting and interview preparation
- Create your “elevator pitch,” a short summary used to make a powerful impression in 30-60 seconds
- Develop a customized approach to interviews and discuss appropriate responses to interview questions. Conduct numerous “mock” interviews, emphasizing different styles and approaches
- Edit and review all written communication for content, tone and clarity before sending.
- Thorough preparation and guidance before each meeting, including discussion of appropriate questions.
- Construct a daily news consumption routine to help you stay on top of industry trends and show a real passion for your field of interest
Session 3 & 4: Intensive networking planning and implementation
- Identify your professional network (you have one even if you think you don’t!) and develop a targeted list of contacts
- Create an outreach strategy; we will have a detailed discussion and craft a plan on how to approach people, how to introduce yourself and conduct effective networking meetings
- Evaluate and improve networking interactions. After you’ve had one or two networking meetings, we’ll examine your results and work on followup and / or alternate approaches
Even after you have completed all the sessions, we will provide ongoing services and support to address your individual needs.
At the completion of the four sessions, you will be armed with a strong resume and effective personal branding strategies, well-developed interview skills and an ability to generate meetings and /or interviews. Your confidence and preparation will greatly enhance your presentation and, ultimately, your likelihood of success.
